PRIVACY POLICY

The Wyoming Outdoor Council respects our visitors’ privacy, is committed to transparency, and makes every effort to honor your preferences about how your information is used.  This privacy policy governs the way we collect and use your information both offline and online, including at www.wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org and its subdomains, websites accessed through your mobile devices, and the Outdoor Council’s own social media sites (“Media”).  Using Media or providing personal information to the Wyoming Outdoor Council constitutes your acceptance of the terms of this policy.

The Information We Collect

We collect and use the information you provide when you interact with Wyoming Outdoor Council Media.  This information falls into two categories: 1) Personal Information, which includes items such as your name and address, which you provide when you become a member, make a donation, attend an event, or participate in an action alert; 2) Non-Personal Information, including information about devices that access Media. 

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information Wyoming Outdoor Council employees provide to the organization in connection with their employment. 

PERSONAL INFORMATION

In most cases, you may use Wyoming Outdoor Council Media without registering or submitting any personal information. However, some Media require that you supply certain personal information, such as a verifiable email address, to register or to fully use the site.

Depending on the nature of your interaction with us, the personal information you are asked to provide may include your name, billing and shipping addresses, telephone and mobile phone numbers, and email addresses. The Wyoming Outdoor Council does not store sensitive financial information, such as credit card numbers or banking information.

The Wyoming Outdoor Council may share your personal information with its service contractors, such as payment services providers or print mailing processors.

Special Activities

When you choose to engage in any of the following activities, you are agreeing to allow some use of your personal information. To opt out from additional uses, please contact info@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org

ACTION ALERTS

When you participate in an action alert to support conservation, such as sending a message to an elected official, submitting a public comment to a state or federal agency, or signing a petition, the Wyoming Outdoor Council may send your personal information, such as your name and residential address, to the target of the action (e.g. an elected official or government agency).

CONTESTS

The Wyoming Outdoor Council collects personal information from you when you participate in contests or special offers, such as our annual calendar photography contest.  

SOCIAL MEDIA & BLOGS

The Wyoming Outdoor Council maintains a presence on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. These platforms have their own privacy policies. 

TEXT MESSAGING

The Wyoming Outdoor Council collects mobile telephone numbers and may send periodic SMS/MMS text messages if you opt in to receive messages from us. For help, text HELP or contact info@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org. Text STOP to opt-out of text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.

NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Wyoming Outdoor Council contracts with third parties to provide analytics information, reports, and analysis about how visitors use our Media. 

We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile phone, tablet, or other device you use to access Wyoming Outdoor Council Media, such as geolocation, device type, and browser type.

Wyoming Outdoor Council Media also uses several techniques, such as cookies, beacons and pixel tags, to improve the functioning of our Media platforms, to help us understand how people are using Media, and to personalize your experience.  

How the Wyoming Outdoor Council Uses Information We Collect

INTERNALLY

The Wyoming Outdoor Council may share information you provide internally and may use the contact information you provide, including any email addresses or physical addresses, to send you information about the Outdoor Council and its mission, newsletters, action alerts, and requests for your support.

Every email the Wyoming Outdoor Council sends contains an unsubscribe button. You can also opt out of communications by emailing your request to info@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org 

SERVICE PROVIDERS

The Wyoming Outdoor Council hires contractors to assist us to perform certain business functions, such as credit card processing. These service providers are provided only the information necessary for them to do their jobs and are prohibited from using the information in any way other than to provide their services to the Wyoming Outdoor Council. They may not share, sell, or use the information for any other purposes.

OTHER NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

When you register for an event that is jointly sponsored by the Wyoming Outdoor Council and one or more other not-for-profit organizations, your personal information may be shared with the co-sponsor organizations. Consult those organizations’ privacy policies for details on how they use your personal information. 

Miscellaneous

CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

DATA SECURITY

The Wyoming Outdoor Council is committed to protecting your personal information and uses all reasonable physical, technical, and administrative controls to protect the information. 

CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

The Wyoming Outdoor Council reserves the right to revise this privacy policy at any time and without notice. 

This site is intended for users in the United States. This policy shall be interpreted consistent with the laws of the United States and the laws of the State of Wyoming.
