2026 Calendar Contest: The Lands Between Us

Submit your artwork to our 2026 Calendar Contest!

The Wyoming Outdoor Council is inviting photographers and visual artists to submit works for our annual calendar!
The theme for this year’s calendar is The Lands Between Us. Help us tell the story of our beloved wild places by sharing your creative takes on the public lands that all Wyomingites, and all Americans hold in common.
New this year: The contest is open to visual art of all kinds, rather than only photos as in past years.
Whether you sketch scenes of rugged beauty, paint migratory pronghorns’ inspiring journeys, or photograph people and communities connected to the land, we want to see Wyoming’s public lands through your eyes.
Artists who have their work selected will win a modest cash prize. Additionally, winning artists will have their work displayed in an exhibit celebrating Wyoming’s public lands. (Stay tuned for an announcement about this year’s exhibit host, location, and dates.)
Submission window: July 1–September 2, 2025
How to submit: Submit your photos either via email (to claire@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org) or Instagram, by tagging your artwork with the hashtag #WOCCalendarContest.
About this year’s theme: All Wyomingites are united by The Lands Between Us. Wyoming’s beloved public lands are the places where we’ve raised our families. Where we’ve shared trails with strangers who became friends. Where we climbed our first mountain, and our thousandth. Where we’ve casted a line in too many streams to count. Where we learned the names of wildflowers, animals, and insects. We can’t wait to see artwork that shares what public lands mean to you!
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Entries must be submitted between July 1, 2025, and midnight on September 2, 2025, either via email (addressed to claire@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org) or Instagram, using the hashtag #WOCCalednarContest. By entering, all contestants agree to release their photo to the Wyoming Outdoor Council for publication in our calendar and supporting media. The Outdoor Council, along with a guest judge, will select the winning submissions, which will be published in the 2026 calendar. Selected artists whose work is included in the calendar, and honorable mentions, will receive a modest cash award. All artists chosen to be in the calendar and honorable mentions will also have their work displayed in an exhibit — details to come. WOC will be responsible for the printing and display of work at no cost to artists. All submitted art is subject to use both in the calendar and the exhibit; however, if you would not like to participate in the exhibit, please email claire@wyomingoutdoorcouncil.org.
Your entry to the contest constitutes your agreement to allow your entered artwork, as well as your name and identifying/descriptive information about your artwork, to be published in the Wyoming Outdoor Council’s 2026 calendar and on the Outdoor Council’s website, in emails, and social media channels to promote the annual calendar contest. It also constitutes your agreement to allow your winning artwork to be displayed in the post-contest exhibit unless otherwise communicated. Reproduction of entries will include the necessary artist’s credit. Contest entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of the artwork they enter. Use of the entered artwork in any other fashion or in any other publications will only occur with permission from the entrant.
