The Wyoming Range
Legacy Act Makes Its Way Through Congress

Looking around the Senate hearing room in
Washington D.C. on the afternoon of February
27 I saw quite a few Wyoming faces. It
was a proud moment for the citizens who
have worked hard over the last several years
to protect the Wyoming Range from new
oil and gas leasing and development. This
was the day the Public Lands and Forests
subcommittee of the larger Senate Committee
on Energy and Natural Resources would
discuss Senator John Barrasso’s Wyoming
Range Legacy Act. It was an important step
toward passage of the bill and I was grateful
to be there to witness it in person.
